Launch 2016

Launch is only 5 weeks away (May 7).  Being prepared means saving crane time which means lower costs to boat owners.  Please read this list of launch reminders [see below].  A call for volunteers will be issued shortly.  In accordance with our Safety Policy, there is no paddling from TSCC property during launch.

New TSCC Towing Service during Launch

This year TSCC will offer a towing service to boat owners whose motors are not functioning or installed on launch day.  For a $50 charge you may take advantage of this service and have your boat towed to your mooring.

Work Party Required 

On April 2 (rain date April 3) a six person work party is required, starting at 10am, to work on the TSCC docks.  Contact Bruce Morgan at if you are available.

New Insurance Requirements

In accordance with our Insurer’s requirements, all boats being launched by the crane must provide a copy of their insurance certificate to us prior to launch day.  Please scan/photograph your insurance certificate & email to  The policy number, company, expiration date & boat must be legible. Failure to provide this document means you will not be launched.

Bar & Washroom Renovations

Please be aware that renovations will begin shortly on both washrooms & the bar area.  You may be inconvenienced by these renovations, which we anticipate will be completed by the end of April.

***Open House & Live Jazz at TSCC

On Sunday April 17th, TSCC will welcome prospective members to an Open House, including live music from the Jazz Voyagers, a quintet featuring our very own Henry Rose on bass. The Open House will begin at 2pm and you can catch the music from 4-6 pm. Hope to see you then! 


TSCC 2016 Launch Preparation

2016 Launch is scheduled for May 7 (7 am – 4 pm). Be prepared!

On the day of launch you will be required to sign-in at the Registration desk confirming all activities have been completed before your boat will be launched. You must also sign-out before you leave for the day to confirm your cradle will be disassembled before noon the following day.

Prior to Launch:

1. Email a copy of your insurance certificate to

2. Confirm motor is on your boat & is in running condition (or take advantage of our $50 towing service)

3. You have installed your mooring lines

4. Launch control lines are placed fore & aft (2 lines X 20 feet) on your boat

5. Tillers & Rudders are in place

6. Sling locations have been marked & are clearly visible to the Sling Operators

7. Boat name is clearly (& permanently) marked on your boat

8. Your cradle is labelled with BOW, STERN & Boat Name

9. Trailers must be labeled with boat or owner name

10. Mast is not stepped & is not on your boat

11. Sea cocks are closed; Bumpers are not attached

After Your Boat is Launched:

12. Cradle must be disassembled after you receive the go-ahead from an Access Officer that the area is safe;

if you do not have time to disassemble it on Saturday you must return first thing Sunday to do it (before 10 am) otherwise you will be assessed a fine.

13. Boat owners must sweep the tarmac of paint sanded or scraped from their boat
