Great Muskoka Paddling Experience

  • October 08, 2016
  • 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Bracebridge, Ontario

The 5, 10 and 20km race courses are unchanged from last season. We did get very favourable comments about the 20km course which was changed last year – "technically interesting" and "great to finish amidst the 5 and 10km racers".  Our 2015's event enjoyed its largest attendance ever – 211 paddlers – this means quality competition for your racers!

We hope you will check our website and Facebook page for more  information but this message will  focus on interesting changes and details  for this year, our 6th anniversary event! PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD! I have included the flyer for posting.

More categories have been added! The emphasis is on  adding more youth (<18) and by gender.  Another change is splitting the C1 category into Marathon and Sprint and further splitting by gender and into youth and adult. This gives even  more opportunities for all paddlers to place among their  peers and a chance to win one of our beautiful signature,  locally made,   pewter medals.

Kayak Sports Canada has donated a pair of carbon-fiber displacement SUPs to be sold by silent auction. The reserve bid is $500 each  with the proceeds to Muskoka Watershed Council. These two SUPs retail for $1,800 each. SO even if you don't paddle come and bid for a bargain!

Also LXV Outdoors is awarding a $2,400 SUP to be won in a draw from among those who  registered as SUP paddlers in either of the two distances, in the event. The draw winner gets to choose between a 14' or 12'6” racing SUP.

Lions of Bracebridge will be back ( by popular request)  serving tasty and hearty breakfast and lunch meals as well as coffee, tea, and hot chocolate ( warming on a brisk weather day) .  As well as being convenient, buying their meals on site  will help support those in need in our community.

There are lots of great prizes to be won by random draw from  among all paddlers entered.

There is Friday evening registration available at LIV Outside, Bracebridge to ease the Friday evening/Saturday morning "registration/ pick up your bib number"  rush.

We are strongly encouraging everyone to  register online  as,  this year, the Saturday on-site registration will cost $10 more! (Online registration also helps us get all the info into the computer for a prompt start.)

For more detailed  information do visit www.muskokapaddlingexperience.com There is also  a Facebook presence for updates.

Thank you and hope to see you all at the annual end-of-season fall races in Bracebridge  Saturday Oct. 8th!!
