You are invited to attend the Designer Cup White Sail Shark Regatta being held at Frenchman’s Bay Yacht Club on September 4th and 5th, 2010. This is not a counter regatta and designed as an entry level fun white sail regatta for

Rules
The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) with the prescriptions of CYA, the
International Shark Class Association (ISCA) General Class Rules and Specifications, and this Notice of Race,
except as these are altered by the Sailing Instructions.

Entries
2.1 The Regatta is open to Shark class sailboats.

This is a white sail only regatta and does not allow spinnakers.

All boats must be properly and adequately insured.

Launching and Mooring
Launch is at FBYC from on Friday from 1800 – 2000, and on Saturday from 0800 to 1000.
Haul-out will be after racing Sunday. Trailers may be stored at the club. Moorings or docking will be assigned upon registration.

Measurement
Boats must comply with Shark Class Rules and Regulations.

1100 Saturday Warning Gun – 1st race (try for 4 today)

1800 Saturday Barbeque Dinner
0800 – 0900 Sunday Breakfast Available
1000 Sunday Warning Gun 1st race of the day (try for minimum of 2)

Registration
5.1 Registration will be available online from Aug 20th, 2010 until 1600 Friday Sept 3rd, 2010.
And onsite from 1800 – 2000 on Friday 3rd, and 0800 – 1000 on Sat 4th, 2010.
5.2 Registration fee is $50.00!! Best Priced Regatta this year!!

Dinners are available for $15.00 extra.

Breakfasts and lunches will also be available for a nominal fee.

Sailing Instructions
Sailing instructions will be posted on the www.shark24.org webpage and copies will be available at
registration.

Scoring
7.1 A minimum of 2 races is required to constitute a Regatta.
7.2 Results will be posted at the club and on-line after racing.

Each boats worst score will be discarded if 5 or more races are completed.

A maximum of 6 races will be sailed over the two days

No warning signal will be made after 1600 on Saturday and 1400 on Sunday

Prizes and Trophies
The 1st place winner of the regatta will be presented with the Designer Cup Trophy and have their name engraved on it. This trophy will pass on to the next winner the following year. 1st, 2nd and 3rd flags will also be
presented.

Invitation
Competitors and their guests may use the Club facilities during the regatta, and are welcome to attend the
dinner on Saturday evening for an additional fee. Camping is permitted on the grounds.
