Summer Programs
Optimist Sailing Skills I II III
The Optimist program is designed for children 7 to 9 years old, no sailing experience is required to enroll in this program. We introduce your children to sailing in a fun and safe environment in our sheltered, protected harbour. The program begins with two children per boat and work towards sailing a boat themselves. The course includes an introduction to sailing, boat handling and White Sail skills. Our trained and certified instructors are chosen for their exceptional skills working with children. The program builds friendships, confidence and self-esteem. We recommend students attend a minimum of two consecutive weeks to attain each level.
White Sail I II III
The White Sail Programs are designed for youth from 10 to 17 years old. No sailing experience is required to enroll in this program. Students are divided into appropriate age and skill level groups within the program. The curriculum is based on Canadian Yachting Association standards and students have the opportunity to earn nationally recognized certificates for each level by demonstrating skills learned in the program. We recommend students attend a minimum of two consecutive week to attain each level.
Canoe & Paddling Program
The focus for this program is fun, fitness and water-safety training for our students. This is an introductory camp with emphasis placed on learning the paddling fundamentals and skills in a fun filled environment for students age 7 to 17. In our Fundamental Paddling Program students are divided into their age group and taught by an ORCA certified Flatwater Paddling Instructor in our sheltered protected watercourse.
