Our Sail Past will take place this year on Saturday, July 6th with the Skipper’s Meeting at 11:00 AM.
The Sail Past is a fun event that allows all members to gather on and off the water. The Commodore, Bob Stevenson, will anchor a boat in the bay while everybody gathers in the area. On a pre-arranged signal, the Fleet Captain (Tom Wharton) will lead the boats past the stern of the Commodore’s boat. Sail boats will “dip” their headsail, paddlers will wave or salute. After all boats have passed, we will have a “See the Island Race” followed by a special BBQ Derek is arranging for us all.
You will find some background information on the tradition of the sail past here: https://www.sailbroadreach.ca/the-tradition-of-sail-past/
We hope to see everyone there!
