Toronto Sailing & Canoe ClubA friendly volunteer-run club on Toronto's Humber Bay |
The location of the TS&CC is excellent for paddling sports. This is a safe and beautiful environment for one- or two-person canoes, kayaks, outriggers, and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs). Our storage racks are just feet from the water's edge. The club sits in the middle of 5km of protected waters, sheltered from the waves of Lake Ontario by a series of breakwaters. We are a short paddle to the quiet waters of the Humber River, with its beaches and surrounding parkland.
A trip from our club to the nearest Toronto Island docks is about 5km, to Outer Harbour Marina just over 10km, and around the Toronto Islands over 20 km. An around-the-islands trip is done in about two hours by advanced paddlers and four hours by intermediate paddlers. (The route is not recommended for beginners!) A favourite after-work trip for paddlers of any skill level is to hug the shore westward to the mouth of the Humber and paddle up a few bends of this beautiful river with its birds and marshes – a three-hour round trip with easy rest spots where you can pause and enjoy the natural beauty.
There are different levels of membership available to paddlers. To find more information about options and costs:
- To learn about becoming a paddling member (storing your own boat/board at TS&CC), see the CKO membership page.
- To explore a paddling crew membership (paddling a friend's boat), please see the crew membership page.
There may be waiting lists for memberships at all levels.
Please note that TS&CC does not rent canoes, kayaks, SUPs, or outriggers
