The rules below cover all TS&CC-hosted racing events. Please note that the Tuesday Night Race Series and Thursday Night Race Series are scored separately.

1. Racing will be governed by the current racing rules of sailing (RRS), as amended by the International Sailing Federation, effective January 1st of the year of the race; the prescriptions of the Canadian Yachting Association; the Performance Handicap Racing Fleet rules for Lake Ontario (PHRF-LO); the competing class rules; and these sailing instructions which shall govern in the event of a conflict. 

2. ENTRIES

Eligible yachts may be entered by completing registration with their Fleet Captain. 

3. NOTICES TO COMPETITORS

Notices to competitors will be posted on the official notice boards of each club. 

4. CHANGES IN THE SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted by 1700 hours on the day it will take effect. 

5. SIGNALS MADE ASHORE

5.1 Signals made ashore will be flown from the club flagstaff and will conform to the RRS with the following amendments.

5.2 Code Flag "AP" "All races not started have been postponed". A warning signal will be made not less than 30 minutes after "AP" is lowered ashore. 

6. CHECK IN / OUT

6.1 All dinghy skippers shall sign out on the form provided on the Notice Board before leaving the harbour and sign in within 1/2 hour of the R/C vessel docking. Failure to do so will result in the boat being scored as DSQ (disqualified). 

7. SCHEDULE OF RACES

7.1 Races are run from May 17th to September 30th, on Tuesdays by the Boulevard Club and on Thursdays by TS&CC. 

8. RACE AREA

8.1 Course maps are available at the club or from the website. 

9. COURSES

9.1 The courses will be posted on the RC Vessel as follows:

• Keelboat course in black and dinghy course in red.
• If no coloured flag is flown from the committee boat, all marks will be to Port; if a green one is flown, then all will be left to Starboard. 

10. MARKS

10.1 All marks are bright orange coloured with black identifiers on a white background and have radar reflecting tape around the top section. 1,2,3,4,5 are Rolan type and A, B, C, D are Sur-Marks. Note and replacement marks will be Sur-Marks.

11. THE START

11.1 The Start Line will be between the R/C's mast displaying an orange flag and the Start Mark.

11.2 A boat shall not start later than 10 minutes after her starting signal has been made.

11.3 Races will be started in accordance with RRS 26. The order of Starts will be Keels and then the Dinghies. The committee will attempt to follow this schedule:

12. RECALLS

12.1 See RRS 29. The committee will attempt to hail. 

13. CHANGE OF COURSE

13.1 The course may be changed at any rounding Mark. This modifies the RRS. 

14. SHORTENED COURSE

14.1 The Race may be shortened at the discretion of the Race Committee. This modifies RRS 32. 

15. FINISH LINE

15.1 The Finish Line will be between the R/C mast displaying an orange flag and the adjacent Mark. 

16. TIME LIMIT

16.1 All racing will cease at sunset or 2100 hours, whichever comes first. This changes RRS 35. 

17. SCORING

17.1 The series will be scored as provided in Appendix A of the racing rules using the Low Point System.

17.2 Rule A9 will apply.

17.3 If 5 or 6 races are completed in any series, there will be 1 drop. If more than 6 races are completed, then 1/3 of them (integer value only) will be dropped. 

18. PROTESTS

18.1 Yachts shall notify the Race Committee at the finish line of their intention to protest

unless the Protest Committee has reason to waive this requirement. All protests shall be

filed with the Race Committee within one hour of the committee boat docking. 

19. PRESENTATIONS

19.1 Presentations will be made at the Clubs' end of season presentation dinner.
